Block Arcade
The Block Arcade, a stunning example of late Victorian architecture, was constructed between 1891 and 1893, designed by David C. Askew. It is heritage-listed and celebrated as one of Melbourne’s architectural jewels—part of the iconic Golden Mile Heritage Walk.
In 2015, we were entrusted with the ongoing restoration of the Block Arcade, one of Melbourne’s most treasured and historically significant arcades. Our focus has been on carefully restoring the internal plasterwork, ensuring the ornate details of this 19th-century landmark remain strong and true. This work allows the Block Arcade to continue welcoming visitors with the same elegance and charm that has defined it for over a century.
